Wind produces more power than any other source in UK on Sep 4

September 5 (Renewables Now) - Wind turbines supplied 211,319 MWh of electricity to the UK’s grid on Wednesday, reaching a share of 36.07% and beating all other energy sources.

The share of nuclear power was 25.4% yesterday, while gas-fired power plants accounted for 24%. Over 9% of the mix was biomass power.

The total electricity generation for the day stood at 585,899 MWh, data by Elexon, the Balancing and Settlement Code Company (BSCCo) show. Details are available in the table.
