August 23 (Renewables Now) - Just a couple of days after US retailer Walmart Inc (NYSE:WMT) filed a lawsuit against Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA), the two companies stated they are working to address all issues concerning the solar arrays installed at Walmart stores.

On Tuesday, the retailer lodged a lawsuit claiming that Elon Musk’s company had demonstrated “gross negligence” when installing and operating solar panels on top of more than two hundred of its stores in the US. Walmart says that Tesla had failed to live up to industry standards, which has led to fires breaking out at no fewer than seven stores as of November 2018.

All solar systems installed at Walmart stores are currently de-energised, but according to a joint statement quoted by Reuters, the companies are now looking forward to restarting them once there is certainty that all concerns have been addressed.

The statement does not mention whether the two parties have settled their legal dispute.
