April 12 (Renewables Now) - Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (BME:SGRE) has signed a 77-MW turbine order with Denmark’s Eurowind Energy A/S for the Thorup-Sletten onshore wind farm project in northwestern Jutland, the Spanish company informed on Friday.

Siemens Gamesa will supply 18 units of the 4.3-MW model with 130-metre rotors and install them starting October. In addition, the turbine maker will provide service and maintenance of the farm during a 20-year period.

Once completed, the Thorup-Sletten wind farm will produce enough electricity to meet the consumption of around 65,000 households.
