April 11 (Renewables Now) - Indian renewable power producer ReNew Power Ltd said on Wednesday that it has commissioned a 300-MW solar plant in the state of Karnataka.

The facility was built as part of the 2,000-MW Pavagada Solar Park in Tumkur district, where ReNew Power had an additional 50 MW of installed capacity already. The new 300-MW solar park is the first utility-scale project in India to use high efficiency Mono PERC modules, according to Parag Sharma, chief operating officer of ReNew Power.

ReNew Power noted that this is the largest project in terms of capacity it has commissioned to date. The company’s current portfolio of commissioned and in-development projects reaches 3 GW.
