to-the-point: EDPR gets EUR-150m loan for renewables in Mexico, Brazil

June 24 (Renewables Now) - The European Investment Bank (EIB) signed last week a EUR-150-million (USD 169.5m) loan to EDP Renovaveis SA (ELI:EDPR) aimed at supporting renewable energy and energy efficiency projects in Brazil and Mexico.

The renewable energy arm of Portuguese utility EDP - Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) has set out to develop and carry out large-scale onshore wind and solar photovoltaic (PV) installations under a project named Latam Sustainable Power Generation FL.

According to the EU lender, EDPR will invest approximately EUR 700 million in its operations in Brazil and Mexico.
