to-the-point: Chile SIC's wind, PV farms generate 7% in Nov 2015

December 3 (SeeNews) - Chile's wind and photovoltaic (PV) parks in the central power system SIC produced 311 GWh in November, equal to 7.19% of the system's output, compared to 221 GWh in the same month last year, according to the report of system operator CDEC-SIC.

Wind power output rose 10% on the year to 196 GWh, representing 4.53% of SIC's overall monthly output. The installed wind and solar capacity remained at 814.1 MW and 442.7 MW, respectively, with no additions during the month, while total installed capacity in the system stood at 15,800 MW.

Gross power output grew 0.15% year-on-year to a total 4,338 GWh, 68.82% of which came from hydroelectric and 24% from thermal plants.
