October 17 (Renewables Now) - Municipally-owned energy company Bristol Energy will supply gas and 100% renewable electricity to local zoo attractions operated by the Bristol Zoological Society.

The service will cover all animal exhibits at Bristol Zoo Gardens, the fifth oldest zoo in the world, and its sister attraction, the Wild Place Project.

Bristol Energy said last week that the conservation and education charity signed up to receive cleaner power in an effort to reduce its emissions and support the city’s decarbonisation ambitions.

The Bristol City Council has set a target to make the city carbon-neutral by 2030.
