Tenaga Nasional inks solar PPAs for 210 MW in Malaysia

March 28 (Renewables Now) - Malaysian utility Tenaga Nasional Bhd (KLSE:TENAGA), or TNB, has sealed long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) for about 210 MW of solar projects to be built across the country.

The deals were signed for 21 years, TNB said in two separate bourse filings this week. The PPAs were signed with seven firms which will design, construct, own, operate and maintain a 30-MW photovoltaic (PV) plant each. The solar parks will be commissioned between December 31, 2019 and December 31, 2020.

The special purpose companies (SPCs) were among the winning bidders in a solar tender held by Suruhanjaya Tenaga, Malaysia’s Energy Commission, in the first quarter of last year.
