December 5 (Renewables Now) - Brazil's House of Representatives' Finance and Taxation Committee approved on Wednesday a bill which introduces incentives for the purchase of renewable energy equipment at farms.

According to bill 6325/16, which amends the Agricultural Law, the federal government will offer differentiated credit lines for family farms willing to invest in solar, wind or biomass power generation.

Under the current regulations, the government encourages the construction of thermal and small hydropower plants (HPPs), rural electrification projects, afforestation programmes, and more.

The bill will be put for analysis by the Constitution, Justice and Citizenship (CCJ) Committee.
