August 16 (Renewables Now) - US residential solar and battery storage company Sunnova Energy International Inc (NYSE:NOVA) has entered into a strategic partnership with PetersenDean Roofing & Solar to provide Sunnova’s offerings to homebuilders across California.

John Berger, CEO of Sunnova, noted that the pair will deliver an integrated solution to homebuilders so they could meet the new California solar requirements. Under an energy policy adopted last year, solar photovoltaic (PV) array are required to be installed on virtually every new-built residential dwelling in the state. The policy concerns all houses, condos and apartment buildings up to three stories that obtain building permits after January 1, 2020.

“Through our partnership with Sunnova, we can now offer home builders expanded product offerings that include leases or power purchase agreements,” said Mark Vogel, president and chief operating officer at PetersenDean Roofing & Solar’s builder division.
