May 6 (Renewables Now) - China’s Sungrow Power Supply Co Ltd (SHE:300274) said Monday it had signed an agreement with Enel Green Power Chile to supply central inverter solutions to a 400-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) farm that will be built in the Atacama desert.

Sungrow will supply its 6.25-MW turnkey solution for 1500-Vdc systems to the solar farm, which is said to be one of the largest in Chile. The inverter boasts an efficiency of up to 99% and a maximum DC/AC ratio of up to 1.5. In addition, it complies with the Chilean codes for earthquakes.

The Chinese inverter maker opened a branch in Chile in 2017. The company said that in 2018 it had surpassed 50 MW, delivering products to projects developed under the Chilean small-scale distributed generation programme, known as PMGD, which regulates schemes of up to 9 MW.
