Spain’s Ibereolica Renovables seeks enviro nod for 500-MW solar project in Chile

January 22 (Renewables Now) - Spanish renewable energy company Ibereolica Renovables SL has filed a declaration of environmental impact, or DIA, for the proposed 500-MW Antofagasta solar project in Chile.

The project consists of two 250-MWac photovoltaic parks, named FV-1 and FV-2, and the accompanying infrastructure in the Chilean region of Antofagasta. The total investment will be USD 532 million (EUR 480m), according to the Spanish firm's calculations.

The DIA has been filed on Tuesday by project company Ibereolica Solar Antofagasta SpA and its admission is being considered, the Chilean environmental service database (SEIA) shows.
