October 9 (Renewables Now) - Spanish renewable energy company Grenergy Renovables SL (BME:GRE) said it has secured financing to support the construction of the 35-MW San Miguel Ayende solar farm in Mexico.

The company signed a financing agreement of USD 17.5 million (EUR 14.8m) with the Inter-American Corporation to build its newest project in the Mexican state of Guanajuato.

Grenergy already established presence in the project area in the first half of the year, initiating construction and carrying out environmental evaluation, including rescuing protected flora, it said in the media release.

It expects to connect the solar farm in the first quarter of 2021.

Currently, Grenergy is simultaneously managing construction in Chile, Peru, Argentina and Mexico, and plans to start building projects in Colombia and Spain by the end of the year.
