April 30 (Renewables Now) - US utility Southern California Edison (SCE) has contracted 195 MW of battery storage projects to meet local capacity requirements in the Santa Clara sub-area, it said on Friday.
Two competitive rounds ended up with the selection of demand response and energy storage resources, but no natural gas-fired capacity. The selected facilities will become operational between December 2020 and March 2021.
