Slovenia's net power output rises in Jan

LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), February 25 (SeeNews) – Slovenia's net electricity production increased by 2% month-on-month to 1,197 GWh in January, while total electricity consumption grew by 5% to 1,275 GWh, the country's statistical office said on Monday.

The output of hydro power plants decreased by 24%, the output of thermal power plants rose by 24%, while the electricity production of Slovenia's sole nuclear power plant, Krsko, fell by 1% relative to December, the office of statistics said, citing provisional data.

In line with the higher production at the thermal power plants, fuel consumption in January increased by 20%.

In January, Slovenia imported 906 GWh of electricity and exported 744 GWh.
