Siemens Gamesa to service 218 MW of GE turbines for Pattern Energy

May 21 (Renewables Now) - Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (BME:SGRE) has signed an operation and maintenance (O&M) contract with Pattern Energy Group Inc (NASDAQ:PEGI) under which the turbine maker will service the 218-MW Panhandle Wind I farm in Carson County, Texas.

Siemens Gamesa said Tuesday that its contract would span a four-year period and include the O&M of the entire fleet as well as SCADA diagnostic analysis. The servicing of the wind turbines will begin later this year.  

The wind farm is equipped with 118 turbines of the 1.85-87 MW model made by General Electric Co (NYSE:GE).

Siemens Gamesa maintains a wind turbine fleet of nearly 57 GW worldwide. In 2010, the company started servicing wind turbines from other manufactures racking up contracts of 1 GW in total.
