April 9 (Renewables Now) - The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has once again extended the deadline in a 3-GW solar tender linked with 1.5 GW of annual manufacturing capacity.

The agency said last week that bidding will be open by April 22, granting developers additional time to submit proposals. This is the second deadline extension in the tender that was issued at the end of January. SECI initially sought proposals by March 18 but later extended the deadline for participation to April 4.

Developers taking part in the competition have to make offers for at least 1 GW of Interstate Transmission System (ISTS)-connected solar capacity associated with 500 MW of manufacturing capacity at a maximum tariff of INR 2.75 (USD 0.040/EUR 0.035) per kWh.

SECI intends to open the techno-commercial bids on April 23.
