December 23 (Renewables Now) - Japanese renewable energy firm SB Energy Corp said today it will put into operation, alongside local firm JA Mitsui Leasing Ltd, a 22.4-MW solar plant in Miyazaki prefecture on January 6, 2020.

The Softbank Miyazaki Kunitomi Solar Park, as the photovoltaic (PV) plant is named, has an estimated annual output of about 26.67 million kWh, enough to supply 7,410 local households. Located in Kunitomi city, the PV park covers an area of 46.6 hectares (115.1 acres), the clean energy arm of SoftBank Corp (TYO:9984) said.

The PV plant was implemented through a 50/50 joint venture (JV) named Miyazaki Kunitomi Solar Park GK, established on December 1, 2016.

At the beginning of the month, SB Energy also switched on a 3.1-MW solar farm on the Japanese island of Hokkaido.
