July 24 (Renewables Now) - Finnish consulting and engineering firm Poyry Plc (HEL:POY1V) has won an owner's engineering (OE) services assignment for a 25-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) project in Malaysia, it said today.

Poyry got the contract from UITM Solar Power Dua Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of the largest university in the country. It said this is its second solar OE deal in Malaysia.

The contract is for a large-scale project located in Johor. Poyry will assist in procuring the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract, and will also be in charge of the engineering review, project management and construction monitoring.

“We are very pleased to have won this assignment through a process of tough competitive bidding and to be able to build our relationship with UITM Solar Power who has aspirations of developing many more such projects in Malaysia," said Petteri Harkki, Regional Director of Poyry.
