February 24 (Renewables Now) - Denver-based Pivot Energy and Onyx Renewable Partners LP have teamed up to co-develop four commercial and utility-scale solar projects totalling 3 MW, located in the states of Colorado and Illinois.

Specifically, the pair will work on two projects with a combined capacity of 779 kW in Illinois that will serve a local municipality and a school district. Also, they will install a total of 2.4 MW as part of two other projects in Colorado to serve a university and a local utility partner.

Onyx will own and operate the plants upon completion.

"The geographic range and diversity of customers within this portfolio demonstrates the increasing demand for solar by all types of commercial and public entities," commented Garrett Peterson, vice president of project development for Pivot.
