January 24 (Renewables Now) - The US arm of German renewable energy projects developer Juwi AG will build 400 MW of solar parks in Colorado for wholesale electricity supplier Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association Inc.

The company said it has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) for four projects, which it will have to complete by the end of 2023. These are the 145-MW Axial Basin Solar farm, 120-MW Coyote Gulch Solar park, 110-MW Dolores Canyon Solar power plant and the 40-MW Spanish Peaks II Solar project.

Roughly one year ago, Juwi agreed to build the 100-MW Spanish Peaks Solar in Colorado for Tri-State, so it will be installing half a gigawatt of solar capacity in the state.
