February 25 (Renewables Now) - Spanish electrical engineering company Ingeteam SA will be in charge of the operation and maintenance (O&M) of a 220-MW solar park in Mexico for the local unit of Enel Green Power.

Named Magdalena II, the photovoltaic (PV) plant is located in the municipalities of Tlaxco and Hueyotlipan, Tlaxcala state. Under the terms of the agreement, the European company will provide O&M services for a period of two years.

Specifically, Ingeteam will carry out electro-mechanical maintenance works for the PV park's low and medium voltage equipment such as inverters, electrical panels, communication cabinets and transformers. The company added that it has already provided a protection, control and measurement system for the lifting substation of this plant.

Operational since November 2019, Magdalena II consists of 550,000 bifacial modules capable of generating some 640 GWh annually, enough to meet the demand of 450,000 Mexican homes and offset 350,00 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions per year.
