March 21 (Renewables Now) - Vedanta Aluminium, a division of Indian natural resources company Vedanta Ltd (BOM:500295), recently announced the launch of the Restora brand of green aluminium manufactured using renewable energy.

The company said in a statement that it is the first aluminium producer in India to make products specifically to cater to demand for low carbon aluminium.

The brand starts with two product lines on offer – Restora, for low carbon aluminium; and Restora Ultra, for ultra-low carbon aluminium. The latter line includes products made with aluminium recovered from dross and has a near-zero carbon footprint. Vedanta has cooperated with Runaya Refining to create Restora Ultra, the announcement says.

Vedanta manufactured 1.97 million tonnes of aluminium in fiscal 2021. Earlier this year, the company announced that its aluminium business had become the country's largest industrial consumer of renewable energy in 2021.
