April 16 (Renewables Now) - White Construction, a unit of Infrastructure and Energy Alternatives Inc (NASDAQ:IEA), has won a USD-65-million (EUR 59.9m) wind farm construction contract in the state of Iowa.

The award calls for White Construction to build a 150-MW wind park in the northern part of the state. The plant is expected to be finalised in November 2020, when it will be able to generate some 600,000 MWh of electricity per year.

White Construction will be responsible for all engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) work, including the building of access roads, the installation of wind turbines and the construction of project substations and a medium-voltage collection system.

The firm’s parent IEA said it recognised about USD 56 million of this contract in backlog at the end of December 2019. To date, IEA has assembled over 7,200 wind turbines across North America, it noted.
