Ichigo switches on 2.8-MW floating PV plant in Osaka

Ichigo Sennan Kitsuneike ECO Power Plant

July 4 (Renewables Now) - Japanese real estate investor Ichigo Inc (TYO:2337) started today the commercial operation of a 2.86-MW floating photovoltaic (PV) power plant in Osaka prefecture.

Named Ichigo Sennan Kitsuneike ECO Power Plant, the PV facility is comprised of 7,840 panels. It is expected to generate more than 3.46 million kWh per year, enough to meet the annual power demand of 960 local homes, the firm said.

Located on 33,575 sq m of land in Sennan city, Kitsuneike ECO is Ichigo's 42nd operational solar plant in Japan. With this new addition, the firm's portfolio reaches 118.82 MW.

In all, the firm has a Japanese portfolio of 58 solar power plants with a combined capacity of 171 MW, including projects in development and facilities held by its yieldco Ichigo Green Infrastructure Fund Investment Corp (TYO:9282).
