Ichigo switches on 1.5-MW PV plant in Fukuoka

Ichigo Itoshima Iwara ECO Power Plant

January 7 (Renewables Now) - Japanese real estate investor Ichigo Inc (TYO:2337) started today commercial operations of a 1.48-MW photovoltaic (PV) power plant in Fukuoka prefecture.

Named Ichigo Itoshima Iwara ECO Power Plant, the PV facility is comprised of 4,720 solar panels. It is expected to generate more than 1.647 million kWh per year, enough to meet the annual power demand of 450 local homes, the firm said.

Located on 58,743 sq m of land in Itoshima city, Iwara ECO is Ichigo's 40th operational solar plant in Japan. With this new addition, the firm's operational portfolio reaches 113.06 MW.

In all, the firm has a Japanese portfolio of 49 solar power plants with a combined capacity of 152.09 MW, including facilities held by its yieldco Ichigo Green Infrastructure Fund Investment Corp (TYO:9282). This capacity includes plants that are currently in operation and some that are under development, the company noted.
