October 7 (Renewables Now) - German car brand Mercedes-Benz has signed an agreement with Iberdrola SA (BME:IBE) under which it will add the Spanish power company’s electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions to its EV sales offering in Spain.

The three-year deal includes Iberdrola’s home charging solutions as well as access to the public recharging network, the Spanish company said. Iberdrola will install at-home chargers for customers who purchase a vehicle from the Mercedes-Benz EQ line or electric vans in a fixed-rate package.

The two companies will also work together on the roll-out of public charging points in Spain, to which Mercedes-Benz customers will have a free access for six months.

All charging solutions will be powered by 100% renewable energy with a certified guarantee of origin, Iberdrola said.
