March 15 (Renewables Now) - Hanergy Thin Film Power Group Ltd (HKG:0566) announced on Thursday the completion of a 11.4-MW photovoltaic (PV) power plant in the Netherlands.

The Roodehaan solar park was built on 22 hectares (54.4 acres) in the municipality of Groningen. It consists of 81,000 Solibro thin film solar modules supplied by Hanergy itself. Dubbed as one of the largest thin film PV parks in the Netherlands, it is expected to generate enough power to meet the annual demand of 3,500 local homes.

The PV facility was developed by Hanergy Thin Film Power Europe, a subsidiary of Hanergy Group, in cooperation with Dutch development partner Solar Energy Works. Local solar engineering and construction company Sunprojects was in charge of the construction. Together they delivered the project for Dutch solar investment firm Sunrock Investments.
