Greenbacker buys 5-MW wind farm in Massachusetts

February 26 (Renewables Now) - New York-based Greenbacker Renewable Energy Co LLC on Wednesday said it has acquired the rights to a 5-MW wind farm in Massachusetts from developer Cornerstone Renewables LLC.

Holiday Hill Community wind farm, located in Russell, Hampden County, consists of two turbines and has a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with three local utilities. The wind facility was commissioned in the final quarter of 2019.

The latest acquisition brings the generating capacity of Greenbacker's portfolio to about of 555.1 MW, including assets that are yet to be built. Wind power accounts for 177.2 MW of the total, solar, both utility-scale and distributed, makes up 365.9 MW, and biomass plants amount to 12.0 MW.
