Envision Solar wins USD-2m order for solar-powered EV charging stations

February 27 (Renewables Now) - US maker of sustainable infrastructure products Envision Solar International Inc (NASDAQ:EVSI) is to supply fast charging network Electrify America with solar-powered electric vehicle (EV) charging stations worth USD 2 million (EUR 1.8m).

Each of the 30 EV stations provided by Envision Solar includes a 4.28-kW solar array, 32 kWh of battery storage and two EV chargers with charging speeds of up to 6 kW.

Electrify America will install the standalone EV stations in rural areas in California, including the Central, Coachella, and Imperial Valleys. Deployment of the chargers will start in the first half of 2020.

The project will help California get closer to its target of 250,000 EV charging stations by 2025.
