Engie Energia Chile agrees to buy 55.3 MW of solar assets in Atacama

April 1 (Renewables Now) - Engie Energia Chile SA (EECL) has signed contracts agreeing to purchase two solar photovoltaic (PV) parks with a combined capacity of 55.3 MW located in the Chilean region of Atacama, the utility said Friday in a regulatory filing.

Specifically, EECL has agreed to purchase all shares in Solairedirect Generacion V SpA, the owner and operator of the 54-MWp Los Loros PV park for USD 34.9 million (EUR 31.1m). The amount, which includes the owner’s pending debts, will be paid out on the closing date of the transaction. The vendor is Solaire Los Loros Holding SARL.

EECL has also agreed to buy all shares in Solairedirect Generación Andacollo SpA, the owner and operator of the 1.3-MWp Andacollo PV park. The vendors are Solaire Direct Chile Ltda y Engie Solar SAS, who will receive a total amount of CLP 220.6 million (USD 327,200/EUR 291,200) on the closing date of the transaction.
