May 20 (Renewables Now) - Enel Green Power (EGP) said on Friday it has signed a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with utility Associated Electrive Cooperative Inc (AECI) for a 236.5-MW wind project in Missouri.
The energy supply deal concerns the White Cloud Wind Project, located in Nodaway County. Currently in its planning stages, the wind power facility is expected to enter construction in the second half of 2019, with commercial operation planned for end-2020.
This is the first PPA announced by Enel Green Power North America since its acquisition of Kansas-based renewables company Tradewind Energy Inc, which is the original developer of White Cloud, the renewable energy unit of Italian energy giant Enel SpA (BIT:ENEL) said.
In addition to White Cloud, EGP North America also operates the 300-MW Rock Creek wind farm in the same state.
