EDPR wins 15 MW of wind power in Greek auction

December 17 (Renewables Now) - EDP Renovaveis SA (ELI:EDPR) said today it has won a contract for difference (CfD) in Greece with a 15-MW wind project.

The deal has a term of 20 years and the wind farm associated with it is expected to begin commercial operation by 2021. It will be located in the northern part of the country.

Greece awarded a total of 159.65 MW of wind and 61.94 MW of small solar power capacity in the auction held on December 10. According to documents released by the country’s Regulatory Authority for Energy (RAE), the only 15-MW wind project listed as a winner was awarded at a price of EUR 58.24 (USD 66) per MWh.

EDPR won a similar contract in Greece for its 45-MW Livadi wind project in July 2018.
