December 11 (Renewables Now) - Brazil's Centre-South ethanol producers sold 1.94 billion litres (512.5 million gallons) of hydrous ethanol in November, continuing the growth trend since the harvest began, local sugarcane industry association Unica said on Tuesday.
Hydrous ethanol sales went up 5.85% and about 994.52 million of the total volume was sold in the last two weeks of the previous month. Anhydrous ethanol sales reached 746.60 million litres.
Overall, local producers sold 2.83 billion combined. From this amount, 2.69 billion litres in the domestic market while the remaining 143.81 million litres were exported, the national agency stated.
Production of hydrous and anhydrous ethanol since the beginning of the harvest up until December 1 was 22.04 billion litres and 9.68 billion litres, respectively. Unica noted that this is a record for the region.
