January 10 (Renewables Now) - Brazil's Air Force signed a technical cooperation agreement with Companhia Energetica de Brasilia - CEB (BVMF:CEBR3) and the local government for an energy efficiency programme that includes the construction of a 600-kWp solar system.

Known as the Energy Efficiency Programme at the Brasilia Air Force (GUARNAER-BR), the initiative will be implemented at the Ala 1 - Brasilia Air Base, it was announced on Thursday.

In addition to the photovoltaic (PV) plant, the programme includes energy efficiency actions in lighting systems, environmental conditioning and water heating with solar power.
