SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), February 9 (SeeNews) - The government of Bosnia's Sarajevo Canton said it plans to establish a wood pellet factory by the end of 2022 in a bid to provide more affordable energy sources for its citizens.

The canton's government is considering entering into agreement with local Kovan M.I. for the construction of the factory, it said in a press release on Tuesday.

Before launching the construction, the government of Sarajevo Canton plans to conduct a feasibility study for the project, the press release read.

Kovan specialises in the production of wood pellet boilers and fireplaces. The company also builds facilities for the production of wood pellets.

The Sarajevo Canton is one of ten cantons making up the Federation - one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other entity is the Serb Republic.
