Biogas Nord to build two 1-MW biogas plants in Slovakia

(SeeNews) - Aug 7, 2012 - German biogas plants developer Biogas Nord AG (ETR:BG8) today said it had won a contract to build two 1-MW biogas installations in the southern part of Slovakia, its first two deals in the country.

Construction of the facilities has commenced in July 2012, with grid-connection planned for December this year, Biogas Nord said. The plants will use as feedstock maize, grass-silage and sorghum. The biogas produced will then be used to generate power and heat to dry the digestate and sell it in the form of pellets in the region.

Slovakia included, Biogas Nord is now operating in 16 countries. At present, it is constructing biogas facilities in eight countries, the company noted.
