April 23 (Renewables Now) - The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has extended for the third time the deadline for bidding in a 3-GW solar tender linked with 1.5 GW of annual manufacturing capacity.
Interested parties will be able to submit proposals by May 14, with techno-commercial bids to be opened on the same day, SECI announced. Initially, bidders were invited to place bids by March 18, 2019, while the deadline was later extended twice -- to April 4, 2019, and April 22, 2019, respectively.
Developers taking part in the competition have to make offers for at least 1 GW of Interstate Transmission System (ISTS)-connected solar capacity associated with 500 MW of manufacturing capacity at a maximum tariff of INR 2.75 (USD 0.039/EUR 0.035) per kWh. Winners will implement their projects on a build, own, operate (BOO) basis and will be awarded 25-year power purchase agreements (PPAs) with SECI.
