Air Liquide, Chinese partner form hydrogen infrastructure JV

April 25 (Renewables Now) - Air Liquide SA (EPA:AI) said today it has formed a joint venture with Chengdu Huaqi Houpu Holding Co Ltd (SHE:300471) to produce and distribute hydrogen refilling stations in China for fuel cell electric vehicles (EVs).

The French industrial gases group aims to be a leader in the development of hydrogen for mobility and in the past months has announced important steps in that direction in North America. Now in China, together with natural gas refilling stations specialist Houpu, the company will seek to facilitate the development of hydrogen mobility and its adoption by users, says the press release.

Air Liquide Houpu Hydrogen Equipment Co Ltd, as the joint venture is named, will build a network of hydrogen stations in the country in support of China’s efforts to boost clean mobility.
