AF Gruppen to build 36-turbine wind park in Sweden

January 23 (Renewables Now) - Norwegian civil engineering and construction group AF Gruppen ASA (OSL:AFG) said today that one of its units will work on the Vindpark Aby-Alebo wind project in Sweden.

Specifically, subsidiary Kanonaden Entreprenad AB has won a SEK-213-million (USD 22.4m/EUR 20.2m) contract to design and build roads, foundations and the electricity grid for the project on behalf of Stena Renewable AB.

The particular wind park will be built at a site in the municipality of Monsteras, where a total of 36 turbines will be erected. According to information on the developer’s website, Stena Renewable bought the licence to the project in the summer of 2019.

Construction work is seen to start this spring, while first power is expected to be generated in the opening quarter of 2022.
