January 23 (Renewables Now) - Spanish engineering company Abengoa SA (BME:ABG) has been awarded a contract to provide operations and maintenance (O&M) services at a 50-MW concentrated solar power (CSP) plant in Spain’s Ciudad Real province.

The Termollano parabolic trough plant is owned by Ence Energia y Celulosa SA (BME:ENC), a renewable energy, pulp and forestry group.

Abengoa said Wednesday it will make sure that all operations at Termollano run smoothly, adding that the contract represents the company’s first opportunity to provide O&M services for a CSP plant it did not build.

The contract with Ence will be in force for three years, with an option to extend the term to 13.

Abengoa’s solar O&M portfolio spans 1,648 MW across photovoltaic, CSP and hybrid technologies, according to the company.
